Culture a Successful Culture

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 -
11:30am to 1:00pm
Synopsis:

An organization’s culture has a lot to do with the success rates of its projects.  The best project team can be less effective than they want to be just because they never discovered the unspoken rules of “how we do things around here”.  In his book “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast”, Peter Drucker recognized that organizational culture is a key factor in how successful an organization is with any effort. How can a business analyst and their project team discover and understand the culture in time to positively influence the success of their projects?   We will discuss how organization culture influences the effectiveness of a business analyst and how our individual context affects how we view and interpret an organization’s culture.

Objectives:
  • Defining and understanding an organization’s culture
  • Strong vs. Weak culture and how it affects the effectiveness of project teams
  • How our personal context frames our understanding of the culture
