White Board Sessions - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Tuesday, February 12, 2019 -
11:30am to 1:00pm
Synopsis:

We all interpret symbols on a daily basis without even realizing it. Using these universal signs while building workflows and diagrams during workshops is an invaluable technique to have in your BA tool kit. This presentation aims to share some ideas about techniques for efficient white boarding. Documenting processes on the fly using this elicitation style allows stakeholders a chance to visualize their own processes and dependencies within. It also gives the BA a chance to confirm critical aspects of the business workflow, such as inputs/outputs, artifacts and interfaces between systems.

Objectives:
  • Better understand universal symbology and ways to apply it while white boarding
  • Find your inner artist using business process notation
  • White board workshop - gas station fillup process
