Robotic Process Automation – Leading the New Wave of Automation Technology

Tuesday, July 10, 2018 -
11:30am to 1:00pm
Synopsis:

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is spearheading a new wave of automation technology that will have a dramatic effect on the workplace over the next 5-10 years.  This session will serve as an introduction to RPA - including what it is, where it can best be utilized, and how business analysis serves as a critical piece of the implementation.  To highlight this, we will also discuss best practices and lessons learned as recommended by Big 4 accounting firms, federal agencies, and Fortune 100 companies that have implemented major RPA programs.

Objectives:
  • Define Robotic Process Automation through a brief live demonstration.
  • Explain the best use cases for the technology and provide an overview of major vendor offerings.
  • Discuss how an RPA implementation differs from other IT projects, and outline the role of the business analyst in a successful implementation.
  • Share a few helpful implementation best practices from leading RPA vendors, consultants, and customers.
Speaker:

Jake Lamb has been with Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores for five years, where his most recent role has been to establish and manage the company’s RPA program as a Business Systems Lead.  His prior experience includes work as a Project Manager and Business Analyst on various major projects including SAP financial and supply chain implementations.  Jake previously served on the board of the IIBA OKC chapter from 2014-2016.  He has a B.S. in Business from Oklahoma City University and is currently pursuing an MBA from the University of Oklahoma.  Jake was a varsity rower in college and continues to volunteer and coach at the OKC Boathouse District in his free time.
